We have a 4625 that is running firmware 2.7. It was hard coded to go to a desktop running a tftp server so we could test this particular version of firmware. We have since decided to upgrade to 2.8 but cannot get this phone to reset and use the DHCP settings to go to the production TFTP server to get the 2.8 code. Mute Reset doesn't work so we cannot get to a prompt to do a hard reset. Is there a pin reset option on the phone or is there some other method to force a hard reset?

If you unplug the phone that should force it to reboot, then you should be able to access the * menu to remove the desktop IP you hardcoded for TFTP.

Sorry, should have mentioned that I tried that... when it restarts, I get character mode showing that it is loading the "A" bin file, then it goes to graphical mode and shows it is attempting to reach an HTTP Server, then defaults to TFTP server then goes to xtension and password screen. There is no way to get it to the reboot * prompt.

The * prompt should be showing up, It just may be really quick. I have had to start repeatedly pressing the * button as soon as the phone starts the boot process.
Just keep pressing * and it will go to manual setup menu.

Evidently the user override settings were disabled in the settings file... so we cannot get to the reset menu. We will need to setup a TFTP server at the IP address the phone is looking for so we can load a new settings file so we can override this.

Thanks to those who responded with suggestions.
