Good afternoon folks,

I have a compact Definity system, running G3V6i.02.0.120.5 which I'm trying to clear out configurations on from it's previous life as a small hotel PBX. There are two problems I've encountered while trying to reclaim the dial plan and generally clean up the switch. I'm not sure if they are both related to each other, but I'm stumped and need some guidance.

The first problem is that there are 2 station circuit packs that are showing in "list circuit-packs" that are not physically in the cabinet, but I still can't remove using the change circuit-packs screen. I am still getting the "" " Must remove translation on the board before changing circuit pack type" error. I looked up other related threads on here regarding this problem, but the solutions listed didn't help me. I was able to remove all stations except one (see next problem below), so I don't think there are any stations holding up the removal of the boards. And it seems that none of the ports are stuck or otherwise held. Here is what I am getting on the list configuration carrier 01a screen for both cards:

[tt]
01A05 DIGITAL LINE no board u p p p p p p p
p p p p p p p u
u u u u u u u u

01A10 ANALOG LINE no board u u u u u p p p
p p p u u u u u
[/tt]

The next problem is I seem to have a phantom extension that I cant remove or find what object it's assigned to. It's the only item listed in list extension-type. Of course when I try to remove it, I'm met with the error "Extension exists but assigned to a different object". I tried checking the console parameters, and its not used as shared extension. And there are no consoles configured in the system either. There are no ACD items on this system, and of course there was no telecommuting use for this. There is no other clues that I can see that shed some light on where this extension is being used. Here is the list extension-type screen:

[tt]
Cv1/
Ext Type Name COR TN COS Cv2
--- ---- ---- --- -- --- ---
299 phantom-user 96 1 0
[/tt]

I appreciate any help you all can provide on how to remove these holdovers from another life...

Thanks!

Mark

This is what you need to do then, 1st reinstall those same 2 circuit packs in their same slots, then you will be able to remove the translations against them, then do a list extension type for that last extension, and then you should be abe to remove it

Unfortunately, those circuit-packs did not come with the system. The ones I do have are different types/vintages of Digital Line and Analog Line packs.

These are tti ports and you have Personal Station Access (PSA)? y which makes tti port show "p"
and not "t" unless they are BRI ports

01A05 DIGITAL LINE no board u p p p p p p p
p p p p p p p u
u u u u u u u u

01A10 ANALOG LINE no board u u u u u p p p
p p p u u u u u

add station next
default or digital set type, use port 1a0502
change the station, change 1a0502 to 1a0503 and the "p" will change to a "u"
change the station, change 1a0503 to 1a0504 and keep doing this until all "p" become "u"
The last port on the board changed to "u" will remove the board.

do this again for the analog ports

phantom numbers can be found on many system forms.. below are a few. You will have to look for this.
Code:
display console-parameters
                           COMMON SHARED EXTENSIONS
            Starting Extension: 295 Count: 1

display system-parameters hospitality
Extension to Receive Failed Wakeup LWC Messages: 295

display system-parameters features
ACA Short Holding Time Originating Extension: 295
ACA Long Holding Time Originating Extension: 296

You, AvayaTier3, are the best!!!! The method you gave to remove the boards worked great! And I actually was in dispay system-parameters hospitality looking around for the phantom number, and I breezed right by the failed wakeup field. It was right under my nose all along!

Thanks so much!!! I can't express how appreciative I am!
