Trouble installing patches on 3.7 BCM

When I try and load any patches core,vmail, feps it performs the system check and uploads the file but then i've waited as long as 1.5 hours and internet explorer reports as not responding and using BCM monitor I don't see any CPU usage also I've rebooted the system several times.

 
Nope not proxies here. I'm having the same problem with 2 BCM's on different networks. Beginning to believe it the BFT because when I disconnect from the SSH my laptop goes to the Blue Screen of Death.
 
Sounds more like a laptop problem then a BCM problem. I have never gotten the blue screen of death, even on systems that had the bad BFT problem.
 
I'm using USB to serial. I don't have the problem with other BCM's or Cisco Routers. The problem i'm having is after uploading the patch to the bcm it's not being processed. I never get to apply the patch. IE just shows not responding and i've waited as long as 2 hours.
 
i actually had the same problem with one of the BCMs i was working on and i called nortel directly they said that they have had a few similar problems with a couple other BCMs. they told me to call it a OBF.
