The Optivity Server unfortunately needed to be re-installed (PC crashed).

i.e. Optivity NMS 9.1

The PC is a windows NT server machine with SP 6a and NT resource kit already installed.

I however am having trouble installing it.

After I do the ObjectStore 5.1 install I get a message saying that the objectstore was not properly installed.

Also I get the following message

Component Error returned the following data error
Setup will now abort
Media Name: data
COmponent:Server
File Group: Server
File:
Error Number :-145

I have tried on many occasions to use a fresh installation but it still fails.

Could you please help me to resolve this problem?

Hello guys,

I am facing exactly the same problem as faced by jjling.
Can anyone please try to figure out why this error is coming??

Waiting for a response.

Are you both using NT SERVER resource kit 4 or above ? This will NOT work with NT Workstation Resource kit.

All,

These are the steps to solve your problem.
1. Install NT Resource Kit II, reboot
2. Install ObjectStore, reboot
3. Install Optivity

If you have CiscoWorks running, disable all the services. Restart them when you are done with Optivity installation.

I'm kinna curious, are you installing from the CD? If you have a zip files of Optivity and extracted to c:\temp\opt, then you will need to create a virtual drive. Optivity doesn't like if you don't install from the CD.

This is how you want to create a virtual drive.

subst x: c:\temp\opt

x is just arbituary letter..
you just created a x drive.

run the installation from the x drive
