Trouble Installing new Western Digital HD on Compaq

Okay, I installed a new Western Digital HD on a Compaq Presario computer as a master, the old HD is the slave. Jumper settings are correct. Booted computer with floppy provided by WD, all went well. Re-booted with Win2K, went through set up. After set up, rebooted, Win2K didn't appear. Instead, I got a message stating there was a disk configuration problem, and the disk wasn't being read. Where did I go wrong? The computer recognized the master and the slave okay. I checked the BIOS, both are enabled.

Apparently, perserverence really pays off - for no reason whatsoever, this just decided to accept the Win2K install and boot like it should. It now works fine... go figure....
