I have an Access report based on a query. The report has two subreports in the detail section, and a section header called "Officer".
When I set the Repeat Section property, for the "Officer" section header, to TRUE, the report freezes. It starts to run, but then it just hangs up. The message in the Status bar says "Formatting page: Press CTRL + BRK to stop."
When I change the property to FALSE, the report runs fine.
Anybody have any ideas what could be causing this?

I'm listed as a programmer, but the term is used loosely in my case. :)

The RepeatSection property is used to print a section header again, on the next page, when the section can't fit onto one page. The section header prints on the next page and data for that grouping continues printing from where it was on the previous page.

Your report is probably hanging because the subreports are doing their own formatting. As they format, the main report tries to Repeat its header, but the code can't get back inside the subreport where it left off. The main report tries to reformat that section, which in turn calls the subreport to start over again.

You should try to move the repeating section inside the page header or inside the subreports. You can also try turning the KeepTogether property for the section header to False.

Thanks jigjag!
Very clear and concise response.
I'll try your suggestions.
Have a great day!
