Hello,

I'm trying to connect one pots line to a MICS 7.1 and all I get is dead air on the T7316E sets.

The system has been in for 14 years and has had a good running DTI/PRI card in slot 4 since it was installed.

Today I powered down, added an analog trunk card in slot 3 and powered back up. The analog trunk card's a NT7B69AAAB GATC alaw/ulaw LS/DS.

In Hardware it shows card 2 type as loop start with lines 031-034. In Maintenance it shows card 2 enabled with 4 Lines.

I've got line 031 assigned as Appear and Ring on the phones but all I get is silence when pressing line 031 button.

I've verified that dial tone is present on WH/BL of the female amphenol connector by connecting a male to it and checking with my buttset on WH/BL of the male end.

I've also tried running the dial tone through the WH/OR, WH/SL and RD/BL for lines 032, 033 and 034. No joy.

Am I overlooking something? Maybe the analog trunk card's bad? Any suggestions?

Per Missed...031 (line 5) starts at RedBrown/BrownRed

For every 2 lines you skip two pairs:
12||34||56||78

So if W/B is the only pair you get dial tone then you have amp cable issue.

Test with a new female amp and if it's ok then proceed to replace it.
I have seen maybe 10 in my life not punched correctly inside the connector.
Some the cover will slide off so you can see the connections.

You can also put a tone on the pairs and check the amp for signal.

Thank you gentlemen for pointing out that line 031 connects through the RD/BN pair. I was incorrectly trying to connect to the WH/BL.
I'll be back at the site Tuesday morning and will connect this pots line to RD/BN. Will post back after getting it running.

Punched the new pots line down on RD/BN and it's running like a champ.

Many thanks to misseditbythatmuch and curlycord for sharing their knowledge and expertise.
