I am building a system using a K7S5A for my son. I already have another system using a K7S5A mother board and decided to buy another and build my son a system. The problem is when I turn the system on it only beeps at me and I get no video. It doesn't even show the bios or anything for that matter. I have heard that this could be the Memory so I took the memory out of my system to try in his and it still just beeped. I have rechecked all my cables and everything seems to be in place what else could it be. I know the CPU I am using is compatible and works I tried it in my system. Any help would be great

Am I understanding right when you took the memory out and placed it in your sons computer did your sons computer beep, if so the memory may well have died, or have i read this room. MCP / MCSE Windows 2000

Jumper settings for bus speed, processor speed, voltage levels. Also some possible changes for processor types. It should all be covered in the manual. Ed Fair

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply. Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

I agree with edfair with his general advice, however in this case the K7S5A is jumperless and configured via bios, are you using SDR or DDR Ram? if SDR then this could be your problem, the latest K7S5A you are using may have a different bios release to your older one. This motherboard is known for its intolerance of some SDR.
