I think I may have received an email and may have inadvertently downloaded loverspy. When I went to do research on what it is and how to remove it from my computer, I know I must have indivertibly downloaded something else. My computer is running extremely slowly, and I can't access some sites. I ran adaware, but it doesn't seem to recognize what I have.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove loverspy?

The only sure fire way that I could tell you is to download McAfee anti-virus.

You could probably find it in the registry's "run", run as service, or autoexec.bat. However, I would be really careful about looking in these places.

Check to see if you have any ports open. You can do this by typing "netstat -a" at the command prompt. Do a WHOIS lookup from the IP address you find with established or listening ports.

Symantec has updated there files for Loverspy.

You can get a free scan from them from

NOTE - The security scan don't work if you're behind a firewall.

Thanks for your reply, June. I just read over my post, and it didn't make much sense. I was frantic to find how to get the virus off my machine, and wasn't paying attention to what I was typing.
