I have been getting an error message from my option 81c TRK156 36 0 0 6 release issue.
this is a cot trunk ground start. verizon tec was on site and verified. I disable the card and resided. I still get the err mess. Any hints. I figuring it not the card as all the cot would be sending message right?

I've found 2 references to the error message for you.

1) TRK156 messages on one exch line. Calls come in and go out OK but line is slow to release after the call.
The problem was a faulty PBX Adapter Unit in the Telephone exchange.

2) New analogue Featurenet Trk provided.
When COT clears we get a TRK516 error message.
Setting the TRK in LD14 to SIGL = LDC and the call won't clear-down (with SUPN = YES or NO)
Setting the TRK in LD14 to SIGL = LGR the call clears eventually (Long Time) but we get a TRK156

The Featurenet lines don't have a cleardown time in the F/net exchange but that this can be configured to 500ms

Changing the Featurenet cleardown to be 500m/s allowed the COT lines to clear correctly
We still get the TRK156 errors but that's always going to be a problem with Loop calling TRK's
We could put the TRK156 errors into the EPT (LD117) Table if they produce Minor alarms but as the lines are now clearing down correctly we left it as it was.

I hope it helps?

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Have you checked the trunk yourself with a test set. It's been a long time but I seem to recall that if a ground start trunk gets changed to loop start at the CO it will cause TRK156.
If its an incoming trunk it may work for incoming calls but result in lots of TRK156.

Thanks for the help to answer the question yes it is a ground start at the frame Verizon tec was there and we both tested. That what is puzzling. I even changed the SUP to no and i continue to get the message. And not on all trunk just that tn 36 0 0 6 all other members are ok. calls can be made to the dn and out as well just puzzeled.

if you switch 36 0 0 5 and 36 0 0 6 does the symptom stay wiht the line or the card port?

Thanks,

Buddy
