trim

I'm trying to draw a frame in CD12.

I pull out a rectangle(fill it) then duplicate it...put it inside the first one.....i want to punch out the center one.....to make a hole inside the outer rectangle.

When i trim it...nothing happens.
I know this has to be a simple task.

Wow...nevermind....suddenly Combine objects seems to punch out the center.
Tried it 10 times before and nada.

Ok...nothing to see here...move along

Combine is normal way of doing it, if you ever find that combining does not make the inside object see through then check that it is a fully closed shape and if it is change the curve direction.
