We have a trigger which emails selected users once an update is performed on a particular column of a selected table. We recently moved the datbase to a new server. The database originally resided on a WIN NT / SQL 7 and is now on WIN 2K / SQL 7. Security, rights and users are exactly the same on the new server but the trigger executes but locks the table and fails to complete the update or send the email. It stays in the locked status and we must reboot the server to kill the process(it does not perform the update). Why would the trigger lock the table and freeze? If security is the same what else could be wrong?????? .dll's???
