I didn't know what other forum to post this on so hopefully someone here has a solution. I have CM5.2 running and have IP, digital and analog phones at my site. We have a nurse working in an isolated area who we are trying to install some sort of a panic button. I was thinking of a trigger like a door bell device that mounts under a counter that she can press and it will activate a ringdown that calls extensions I can program in. No communication is necessary and this only needs to call internal extensions. This is not a 911 button and we aren't loooking for a monthly service like the "I've fallen and can't get up". If I can get a trigger/button to take an analog extension off hook I can make it work. Any ideas? Thanks

You can set an analogue phone up as a hotline. If the instrument handset is lifted it will automatically ring at a predefined destination phone. The destination phone can be digital or IP so that the receiver can see who the call is coming from.

We did this as stated above but we just put a 2 way switch at the desk with dial tone wired to it. When you throw the switch it puts a short on the line. This is the same as an off hook. Remember to throw the switch back when you are done.
