tried to add and link tables

tried to add and link tables in crystal reports and it keeps kicking off the application - any ideas why?

You can get this when you have 'Save Data With Report' - that should be under File on the menu.

It always helps to give your Crystal version - 8, 8.5, 9, 10, 11 or whatever. Methods sometimes change between versions, and higher versions have extra options.

As lbass said, you do need to be more specific.

This makes no sense to me. Can anyone else help?

Maybe you could report it to the software vendor, since it should not be doing this.

Do you have Smart Linking enabled? Was the option to disable it around in 9.2? I cannot remember?

I would suggest trying this only AFTER backing up ANY regsitry keys you are requested to modify in the above post. (PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK)

So the process would be...

1. Close CR
2. Locate the reg key
3. Back up the reg key
4. Modify per the instructions in the above post.
5. Reboot (yes simply loading CR again should be sufficient but a reboot will make 100% sure the modified key will be read)
6. Launch CR and test
7. If success - dance! If no success restore backed up reg key.
