The treeview control I inserted on my form has been working for several months. Now not only does it not work (click and check events not working) but the properties and their values are blank (via TreeView object properties).

I have renamed the activex control MSCOMCTL.ocx and ran a repair of Office 2010 (which recreated the file). Still no luck.

Any suggestions?

Do you happen to have a backup of the same database, in case the form/control got corrupted?

Another (long shot on this one, I think) - have you heard of using decompile to fix database issues?
Symptom: "An error occurred while loading Form_FormName"

If you receive this error when trying to convert from one version of Access to another, your database is partially corrupt. Decompile a copy of your database.

Make a copy of the mdb file while Access is not running.
Compact:
In Access 2010, Compact and Repair Database on the Database Tools ribbon.
In Access 2007, click Office Button (top left) | Manage | Compact.
In Access 95 - 2003, Tools | Database Utilities | Compact.
Close Access. Open a command prompt, and enter something like this. It is one line, and include the quotes:
"c:\Program Files\Microsoft office\office\msaccess.exe" /decompile "c:\My Documents\MyDatabase.mdb"
Compact again.
Try the conversion again.

Otherwise, check out Browne's site/page listed at the link. Lots of different problems solved for on the page.

Yes I've tried decompiling and compacting and repairing...no luck. I've tried opening a new database and created a new form. Same symptoms. Copied the database to my laptop, works fine. I will check out Browne's page

I got it to work. I ran cmd as administrator and registered (via regsvr32) the 2 files MSCOMCTL.ocx and MSCOMCT2.ocx.

Note, to run cmd as administrator, find cmd.exe and right click and select "Run as Administrator". Set the directory to where the files reside. Then, at the command prompt" enter "regsvr32.exe MCCOMCTL.ocx".

Awesome! Thanks for sharing your fix!

Interesting...thanks for sharing that. I have coworkers who have not yet experienced the problem, but when they do, we'll know why.
