Is there a tree web part that will allow displaying and navigating to the document libraries and sub sites? Are there any free ones?

Thank you wolvie3421! It looks like a very nice tool.

The Tree control works fine in WSS 3.0 but the webpart cannot be installed to a WSS 2007 versionm of SharePoint. When I run the same stsadm.exe -o addwppack - .... command that installed the CAB file of the Tree Web part on a WSS system, on a WSS 2007 I get the following error message: "The configuration database could not be updated".

So does anyone know of a tree web part that will work on WSS 2007?

Thank you

You probably have seen this already but in WSS V3 (2007) you can on a site turn on Tree navigation atleast for the QuickLaunchbar, but that might not be enough for you?

If you are an administrator on a site you have the permissions to chnage this under site actions.

Cheers,
Thomas

Thank you Thomas2000 and yes I know about the tree view in the Quick bar of WSS 3.0. The problem with it being there is that its horizontal size is fixed even when I made the width of the Quick Bar larger via SharePoint designer the tree view's width remains the same. For sites that have document libraries with folders or sub sites the sub nodes cannot been read or even seen unless using the horizontal scroll bar or by placing the cursor the node and a tool tip box appears, not the best way and users do not like that. I have not been able to figure how to increase the width of the Tree view.

We are in the process of creating a lot of new templates and layouts for our large SharePoint 2007 rollout, and I know that there will be some kind of tree navigation structure for the Document Libraries, if I ca get any information I will post it here. Otherwise I am sure that tehre will be updates to the existing webparts out there so that it will be compatible (installable) on SharePoint2007.
