Transparency printing black 1

I am working with InDesign CS and I have psd. photos from Photoshop that I made the background transparent. In one file the photo prints without the background and another file the transparent background is printing black. I can not figure out what I am doing wrong. Both files are RGB. I am pretty new at this and have figured out most things, but this one has me stumped. Can someone give me any ideas how to fix this? Thank you!

Are you printing to a PDF file? Inkjet printer?

Printing to HP color laserjet 5500dn printer.

Did you apply clipping paths in Photoshop? Without them, you'll lose transparency. Look in Photoshop Help for "clipping path".
