hi, am making a flyer using indesign CS problem is when i change the opacity all the project dims??? have tried all sorts, including putting image on its own layer. after the project has dimmed even putting the opacity back to 100% wont help. is happening with a variety of fformats not the one.

What do you have selected when you try to change transparency? You need to select the object to be dimmed and then use the transparency slider on just that object. If you are selecting just one object, what is the file format?
 
Even if you apply transparency to just one object, InDesign must change screen render modes to display the transparency. This change of display modes may cause the effect that you see on the whole page. It should not affect the printing. To see if this is the case, experiment with the different display modes under the View menu - such as viewing overprint preview and separation previews.

The first thing im going to ask is where and how do you change the opacity and how does it affects all the project?
 
um slider that say transparency? has a control box pretty much all to itself. i select image and then adjust opacity/transparency
