I'm using Premiere 6.01 witha Matrox RT2500 capture card on Win2K, with a P4 1.7g and 256 mb RAM. When I'm adding any sort of graphic or video to a timeline, I get a problem where only the first track shows anything, and only until the point where it overlaps with a transition or another track. For example, if I have some video on Track A, and I place some video on Track B and place a transition between them, The first section on Track A will display until it hits the transition (when it turns black), and then none of Track B will show either. The clips can be .avi, Titles, or anything - the result is the same in the end. Does anyone have any ideas or solutions? Greg W

As a further note, the size of the files doesn't matter - I'm working with small clips right now, and a single track 4 second clip worked just fine, while a two track 3 second video didn't. Greg W

And to add even more info, the tracks will actually layer properly if and only if they both start at the beginning of the clip - the same is true for the transitions. Greg W

Also of interesting note: If I use alt+clicking to look through my timeline before I render it, my transitions and videos all display properly. After rendering, I get the problem of black video appearing. Greg W

This is just a guess, but I've had similar problems when the imported graphic files' aspect ratio was not matching the project settings or even the captured video settings don't jive with the projects settings. My timeline wouldn't render any transitions. I also have the Matrox 2500. But I noticed you also only had 256 MB of RAM. I don't think that's optimum for the 2500. I could be wrong....
