Hi,
I have red hat linux 7.3, and Oracle Collaboration suite installed.
Now OCS has its own email server - unified messaging.
However one of the other applications (that is part of ocs) uses the sendmail command line to send messages - these messages are then handed off to ocs's unified messaging's smtp_in (through rewriting rules).
Now the problem i am facing is, when i test sending an email via the sendmail command line i get the following 2 errors:
sendmail -v naqi@ocs.com
err msg:
ocs.com:Name sever timeout
transient parse error
Basically the hostname of my linux box is 'naqi' whereas the domainname is ocs.com
$hostname
naqi
$domainname
ocs.com
my hosts file has the following entry:
192.168.0.1 naqi.ocs.com naqi naqi01
Why doesn't sendmail realize that ocs.com is its own domain? I don't need sendmail to send off any mail outside of my linux box, i need it to recognize that ocs.com and naqi.ocs.com is the same linux box. Once it does this then it will be able to hand off the message to oracle's smtp_in (which is also on the same box). In essence i don;t need sendmail to be running at all, i just need:
/usr/lib/sendmail -v naqi@ocs.com to work and not give me name server errors
I would appreciate any help in this?
