I was trying to make station changes on one of our CM 2.0 switches today and received the error: Transient data conflict detected, please try again. This really locked up the system and came up each time I tried to send a command. I couldn't even sav trans prior to shut down. That is how I restored functionality, I cold booted the S8500 because I also could not get to the Maintenance page on-line to do a graceful shutdown. I waited about three minutes and started the server again. All services were restored after boot up. There is a chance that this is caused by not taking down and bringing up the server periodically so I am setting up a schedule for that purpose. Hope this helps.

Normally not a corruption but the result of a process not releasing

This is usually the 'lock' table that has the precs locked and therefore will not allow access to the object

Sometimes a tui process is the cause and requires the process to be killed in debugger or a reset 1

You can use Linux bash command to do reset on CM "drestart 1 1" is equivalent to the SAT Command: reset system 1

Linux servers can be rebooted or shut down from Linux bash command.
stop -fh (force halt / shutdown)
stop -fr (force shutdown, then reboot)

as stated I have had this same issue and a reset system 1 did resolve it for us
