I was wondering if anybody has been able to copy their Connection directory from one pc to another?. I've built up a number of sites & I don't want to have to repeat the process on another computer each time. Is this possible please?.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

It can be done, my computer crashed a couple months ago and my network guy was able to transfer all of my locations over to the new machine. But I'm sorry to say I don't know how he done it. I have a feeling he may have just copied folder over to my new drive.

I'll see if he remembers how he done it and let ya know.

I think that I may have found the directory that contains all of your stored entries. I've recently upgraded my own Element Manager to Nortel's latest issue, when I'd noticed my directory was missing after the installation had finished. My shortcuts to the program were also wrong. Anyway it appears that my old EM path was

D:\Program Files\Nortel Networks\BCM\BCMElementManager.

The new path was
D:\Program Files\Nortel Networks\BCM\BusinessElementManager.

Within the "bin" folder is another one called "access"
It contains a XML file called "summary". It you open it up via notepad, you will only get "oooooooooooooooooo" etc. Just copy that file into your new EM "bin" folder to replace the default one, before you load up the Element Manager program.

You should then get your old entries listed again. I still had to download the cartridges again, but that was no big deal!.

I just had a crash, reinstalled XP, transferred the old data files to the new drive, created a shortcut, and and element manager worked with no installation.
Certainly surprised me.
