Sorry, I'm sure someone has dealt with this, but I can't find it. I have Sidekick 99 running on my old machine, and have now installed it on my new XP Pro system. How can I transfer all the info I had on my old machine?
Thanks for your help.

Dear MarilynKm
It is a little more tedious in SDK99 than in SDK98 as it does not have the Backup and Restore facility so I will write it offline and post it back here later.
In the meantime if anyone else wishes to, feel free to answer as I will post it as a FAQ anyway.
Regards Jim

After getting repeated error messages when making backups using Backup & Restore I started just saving the userdata folder in the Sidekick folder as my backup. To restore my data to a new install I just copy its contents to the userdata folder in the new install and say Yes to overwrite files.

Great idea ebob2k
One thing though,
Backing up the Userdata folder only saves the Cardfiles and the Calendar and expense files
BUT the label, envelope,Phone fields formats,
(sklayout.skw,skwlb2.skw,skwnv2.skw and skwph2.skw) and a few others are in the data folder
and the Templates(Quickletters) are in the Sidekick98|Templates folder.
Check out the relevant FAQ's at Starfish's website for the locations etc.
Regards Jim
