I have a laptop with a Windows partition and a Unix partition, and use a Boot agent (Boot Magic), to choose where to boot on startup.

I have the need to copy files between the partitions. Can this be done, and how?

Thanks,

Joe

Your problem is:

Windows won't mount HTFS partitions (or DTFS).
Sco won't mount Fat32 or NTFS partitions.

Both will mount Fat16 partitions.
Both will mount ISO9660 filesystems.

If your laptop has a cdrw drive you could use that to transfer files.

or
Repartition your laptop and include a fat16 partition that both os's will be able to mount.

doscp to a floppy is probably the only way since both are on primary partitions.
Had it been set up as dual boot using SCO's boot manager you would have been able to get to the windows side hardware.

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply. Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

To edfair,

Is SCO's boot manager, where you would type in the word "DOS" at the BOOT: prompt? And, if so, is there a way to change to this type of dual boot without wiping out unix and doing a re-install?

I'm not the one to ask with OS. I understand the problem but not the ramifications of the answers.
There was a difference with how earlier systems got you there and how server does it. And I don't think you can get there from where you are.
I think you would be better wiping away the windows and creating a drive that server can see. Probably at the front of the drive as fat16. Or even robbing the space from the windows partition with partition magic.
Having not done it, it is speculation. Hopefully Stan or PHV can give some guidance.
