I know I saw this somewhere--I have scoured the support.avaya.com site and the FAQ here----what I am looking for is I have intuity audix release 4.4 and definity g3si r10---- I know there is a way to transfer calls right into yours or someone elses vmail without ringing their extension.

Thanks
Chiefred

Creat a station and a mailbox for that station. On the subscriber screen page 2 change the TYPE to Auto-Attendant and Announcement control to Y.

On page 3 Allow Call Transfer should be set to Y

Buttons 1-9 should have "e" for a value and call-answer for the treatment. 0 should have "e" for value and transfer for Treatment. You can customise this for you dial plan.

Once this is done, change the announcement for this mailbox to say something like "Pleas enter the four digit extension number"

That's about it...

Something else to try is direct transfer into audix access codes. If a call rolls to you you hit transfer the access code and transfer. That will send that call back to the persons number that was called and go directly into their vm box. You can find the code for this in the feature access codes forms.

Provision a "goto-cover" button for use when dialing someone else's extension, use the "Transfer to Voice Mail Access Code" FAC (Feature Access Code - command = "ch fe") for transferring a caller into your own mailbox.

Thanks people

1. DMoore---I tried your suggestion--I can not get the sub to stay as an autoattd----it changes to custom and it would not allow a call to transfer--but rather hung up. Thanks

2. the second from Mikeydidit ---that works but the idea is to transfer a caller to the requested voice mail box. Partner phone systems have a xfer option right to a vmail box--it is a programmable button. Thanks

3. I am not sure I understand the "provision a goto-cover" button--I put it on my phone--and tested it--but could not get it to work---maybe you can explain a little more. Thanks

Sounds like you are trying to change the COS.

It will be on page 2 under Permissions. Change the TYPE to Auto-Attendant.

Once this is setup, and you dial this number, it will work like this..

Please enter the 4 digit extenshion number... (Enter the extenshion number) and it will automaticly route to the persons VM without ringing their phone.

I did that---is it possible to have a limit on vmail boxes that have autoattd invoked?

Thanks

It guess it is possible, I have never seen it thought.

On that field hit the choices button F2 on mine and see what options are availible.

Should look like:

Auto-attendant
bulletin-board
call-answer
None

now the autoattd is listed on page 1 but when I call it says the autoattendant is not available

You need to create the greeting. Once you create the greeting it you will no longer get the message and it will work. Setup the voicemail box and give it a password and record the greeting. Be sure to make it active or it will not work. (Can't use the system greeting)

created a password and greeting--however when I call in with a test--I get the attendant not available message

Anytime...

I just setup another one up on our system. Once you record the greeting the Auto-Attd message should go away. Make sure you are using greeting 1 and make sure it is active otherwise it will not work.

If it still doesn't work, login to audix and change the TYPE back to Call-answer. Dial the ext. and see if you hear the greeting. You should not hear "You call is being answered by Audix." But only the greeting you put in.

If you hear greeting 1 change it back to Auto-Attd. and it should work.

Also make sure page 3 of the subscriber for is complete.

when I looked on page two--the announcement control was showing "N" and I know I changed it to "Y" -- anyway I changed it to "Y" again and the COS on page one changed to custom from autoattd.

I changed it to call answer and it went to audix like you said. I changed it back and the announcement is still that auto attendent is not available.

I am about to give up

No don't give up... : )

Login to the mailbox you setup for this (like you are checking messages) and choose option 3. It will say "For all calls greeting XXXX active.

What does it say?

There is also a guest login on the intuity audix. You can put messages directly into someone elses mailbox.
To use this eswtablish the guest greeting password.
Dial into audix jsut as you would to go to your own mailbox
only enter the ext of the station you want the message to go to, enter the guest password and you should get the message "please leave a message for so and so, record at the tone".
Now comes the fun part... if you want to send someone to anothers mailbox, do the above and transfer them in as soon as you have entered the password. This works great. If there are some that you use quite often, you can set them up as speed dials, then you just transfer speedial number and drop.

DMoore

The greeting I modified was the system greeting in the vm box---and it is set to greeting one---as well as its active.

OK---it can't really be this complicated---to send a caller directly to an extensions voicemail bypassing ringing at that extension, can it?

The WHITE flag is bent on and I am getting ready to haul up.

If greeting 1 is active, (not the System Greeting) and recorded, you should no longer get Auto-Attd Not available message. The only other thing I can think of is change this mailbox to a different COS and make sure everything is set right.

I have setup 3 Transfer to Audix extensions trying to duplicate your issue and I can't. Unfortunately I'm out of Ideas. If you have maintenance on you Audix you could give Avaya a call and see what they can come up with. I'm sure it is something simple. If you figure it out, let me know. I would be interested to know what it was.

Perhaps if you were to post your subscriber screens, maybe someone will be able to spot something......
