I've got a new Exchange 2003 server working and I now need to transfer the large Contacts list from my old Exchange5.5 server (which is on a different domain) onto the new 2003 server. Is there a folder or one file that I simply copy over? If so where would I find such a file or folder? I also need to copy one users mailbox over because of the years of emails that he wants saved. Is that an easy transfer? Is it simply copying the pst file and pasting it onto the new server? Any advise is appreciated. Thanks.

There is no file or folder for that.
Either you use the 2003 Wizards, or you export it to a PST file and import it again.

Using the Wizard seems to work ok, but I need to pull the Public folders off the 5.5 NT server and get them onto the 2003 Server. I can't seem to be able to export or copy the public stuff off the 5.5 server, and the 2003 wizards don't say anything about Public folders, they just have mailbox transfers. Gimme a clue.

To run pfMigrate
1. In Exchange Server Deployment Tools, on the Welcome to the Exchange Server Deployment Tools page, click Deploy the first Exchange 2003 server.
2. On the Deploy the First Exchange 2003 Server page, in the Follow this process column, click Coexistence with Exchange 5.5.
3. On the Coexistence with Exchange 5.5 page, click Phase 3.
4. On the Phase 3. Installing Exchange Server 2003 on the Initial Server page, click Next.
5. On the Install Exchange 2003 on Additional Servers page, click Next.
6. On the Post-Installation Steps page, under Moving System Folders and Public Folders, click move system folders and public folders, and then follow the steps listed to complete your public folder migration.
