I have a request to do one of the two following things on CS1000 5.0 1120/1140 sets:

1. Have a distinctive ring for transferred calls that are forwarding back to the set that transferred the call; OR

2. Have a message display on the set receiving the transferred call back saying "transferred from..."

Can I do either of these scenarios? If so, how?

Great thanks that worked.
Is there any way to use a distinctive ring?

There is no provision for modifying a ring based on reason/redirect.

However, let's say you had one phone that did all the transferring. And all the other phones came back "no answer" to that phone too.

You could set the FDN of all the other phones to be a specific number on the main phone, then assign Distinctive Ring by DN that that specific number.

In other words, all the "no answer" calls rang to a specific number, and that number was set to ring differently.

This switch is tenanted, and there are DID's coming in being answered by many people as a "main number", and then calls are transferred to an extension. When calls are unanswered, they transfer back to the DID that extended the call.
While they liked the reason codes being turned on, they want either audible tone (they don't have a key on their set they are willing to give up), or another solution.
any ideas?

No ideas on audible, but I can offer a cool name display idea for those calls.

Example:

If you have CLS: CNDA DNDD, you always see who is calling. No big deal for an answering point.

Now get this: If you have CLS CNDD DNDA, you always see "who was being called but didn't answer"

The idea here is the "main number" folks would then be able to pick up the call and say, for example "I'm sorry that Mr. Smith did not answer, can anyone else help you" rather than saying "Who were you calling?"
