Hello,

I have an NCP-1000 and TVA-50, along with maintenance console software. Currently when our receptionist transfers an outside call to an extension, if it is unanswered the call bounces back to the receptionist. We'd like for the calls to go to the person's voicemail if unanswered. Can anyone help me find which settings to tweak to obtain this behavior?

Thanks!

In the voicemail parameters,PBX settings change transfer sequence frim FX to FXD

Should this be set in "Operator Transfer Sequence", "Extension Transfer Sequence" or both? I want to make sure I have the correct setting before confirming the changes.

Thanks!!

I normally do them all
F is flash
X is Extension

so in this sequence the call is transferred as a supervised transfer and will return on the transfer recall timer

D is disconnect which means you basically do a blind transfer

It's strange but I set it to FXD and I'm still seeing the same behavior. It just rings forever after transferring. Dial a regular call to the extension and VM picks it up like normal.

I would say that you have the c/fwd on the NCP extension set differently for internal and external calls

ON the phones that need to bounce to voicemail, set call forward busy no answer to the vm floating number.

Example *710 5 500# on the individual extensions.

THe FXD reference above is when the auto attendant transfers the call.

Thanks, that works. It's going to drive them nuts having a blinking red light on everyone's phone, haha. I can't believe this isn't the default behavior of unanswered transfers!!

Let me take that last post back. It "kinda" works. After the call is transferred, the desk phone rings literally just once then goes to voicemail. Is there another setting for how many rings it waits for transferred extension calls?

No answer timer in timer settings or change per extension in extension settings fwd dnd na timer

Excellent. Problem solved.

Thanks for all your help!!

Bit late to the party but if you use intercept on extensions settings to vm you will not need fwd on

I just tried setting Day, Lunch, Break, Night and Busy to the VM extension. I even changed the timer to 15 instead of using the system timer. It still doesn't work. It just rings forever.

One of the user's indicated that after the original forwarding change, ALL calls are being forwarded to their VM now, which means something isn't working right here.

Just to clarify, here are the steps we're taking for transferring calls:

-Pick up reception phone
-Press transfer button
-Enter extension
-Hang up reception phone

Did you try a direct dial or ringing the extension directly. Does it go to vm?

I tried calling from the outside to an extension, then transferring that call to the phone with the new settings.
