Hello,

I want to be able to transfer messages left in the mailbox of my Nortel extension to my computer. The phone is a Meridian/Norstar M7310.

Here's my idea: could I attach some sort of adapter to the headset port on the back of the phone that can connect on the other end to my computer via a 3.5 mm jack? I could play the messages on the phone while recording the message on my computer with the 3.5 mm microphone port as the input source.

Has anyone ever done this or anything similar? Any recommendations?

Thank you and have a great weekend.

Which voice mail system and version number do you have?

If not sure log into 983 then press 9 and record the version number and post it.

That is Callpilot 100(or 150) 3.1 so use that when posting next time.

That voice mail has Unified Messaging (via key code) which integrates with Outlook to have sound files emailed mark as read to turn the light off on phone or delete messages on Callpilot when email is deleted.
Problem is it's getting way out of date and harder to manage while Microsoft keeps moving up.

Where BCM50 has Desktop Messaging which just forwards the wav file to an email....no integration.

If your MIC does not work when you drape it across the speaker on your phone then maybe by a third party device of sorts that utilized the handset or headset jacks.
Here is one from sandman : You can record conversations as well play the greeting from your mailbox while it records.

Otherwise upgrading to any new phone system most likely has this option.
