transfer to voice mail

Hi Guys

Is it possible on cs 1000 with callpilot to transfer the call to voice mail ON answer ? meaning, if the user pick up the phone to answer the call, the line get transfered to voice mail but not from all calling DNs, just one sepcific DN.

If you want the call to go to vmail when someone calls a specific DN, you could program a specific set (TN) to have MARP enabled for that DN. Then you could call forward the set to vmail.

A second way is to have the DN programmed as a Voice Services DN in voicemail and have voicemail answer the call without ringing on anyone's set.

A third way is to program the DN as an ACD that is night call forwarded (NCFW) to voicemail and build a voicemail box for the DN.

Do they want to be selective on when the answer the call? i.e. when a specific caller id comes in, they want it to go to vmail?
 
Short answer is no, if it's on an IP phone and new enough release you can out a call deflect key on the IP phone and when the user doesn't want to answer the call and stop it from ringing you press the call deflect key and it sends the caller to VM.
 
I meant to say put a call deflect key not out, sorry.
 
what I'm trying accomplish here is send a reminder to some users in form of a recorded voice like a voice mail or an announcement.so when they pick up the call coming from me, they will hear my recorded message.

Don't think there is anything that will do that for you that is not 3rd party, like a predictive dialer.

similar to some telemarketing companys are doing this days, they call us and upon answer, they play a message
 
The deflect key wont do what you are wanting and you have to be on release 7.0 or higher with an IP phone
 
Well i have cs1000 realese 7.5 with IP sets 6140 and 1120's
 
Here is what I did and it didn't work.
I set a phantom analog TN that Hot Dials an announcement in my voice mail system, then the announcement transfers the call to a DN that appears on the user set. but when the user pickup, the line just open no announcement.
 
Once upon a time about 20 yrs ago, a customer of mine with a large call center, modified their phones (Nortel 2216 ACD phones) with a voice recorder/playback card so when they'd answer a call, they'd press a button which would announce whatever they pre-recorded by hitting another button on the phone. Of course this was all 3rd party hack job stuff that voided the warranties on the phones - but it worked.

I suppose you can do something like this with an analog phone and a device such as a Viking EV-1 or similar - perhaps something that goes between a handset and IP phone if you don't have analog ports on your system. Google around - there's solutions out there.

But no, what you want to do is not possible with a Nortel PBX and CallPilot for outbound calls (it will with inbound). You'll need a third-party product to achieve your goal.
