Transfer straight to voicemail

Hi

Nice easy one for you guys hopefully;

What shortcode do i need to create to be able to transfer a call straight to someones voicemail regardless of whether they are on the phone or not?

And how would this be done in phone manager?

I remember there being a # involved but I have tried making it up and checked the help but no luck...

match the x's in the shortcode to the extn length

 
The short code would be like this.
#2xxx
Voicemail collect
#2N
line 0.

This would be for 2000 range extensions. To use it you would press transfer and dial # plus extension number and hang up.

It's "#username" in the number field with voicemail collect, including the "" marks

if you did it that way you would need a seperate code for each user

That is how the wizard used to do it. you would have to build a code for every user and if there was a name change ever then you would have to change it. if you use the code i made it will always work and you only have 1 code.

Good idea, I only ever did it for one or two peoples VM so just took it straight out the (Most helpful I've seen) Help file.

The U is for users like the default shortcode *17

Peter i think i am confussed with that. what is the X for? does it allow you to transfer callers right into someones VM.

I must confess that i never tried this :)

Normaly a user dials *17 and the system knows that it is that user because of the U

While i am typing this i think it will not work because it will use the voicemail from the one who transfers

So i guess you are right :)
