Hi,

Here's one I can't figure out. I couldn't get a ton of info from the guy, so I'll explain as much as I can. This customer is at a site with a DR5. He has a Tie line (flexar?) to another location. Recently they had a bad power failure and he reset the system and installed a UPS.

Before the outage, the users could dial a four digit number to get over the Tie. For example 5123 (that's kind of the real range). Since the crash, the users can still do that directly, but if a call comes in and they try to transfer it to the other site, it doesn't work. They hit transfer, and only two digits will enter into the phone. Then the user gets an error message saying 'not in service'.

I had the customer check to see if allow redirect was set, and it is. What am I missing?

Thanks for your help in advance!!!!

Stacy :)

CHECK THE ACCESS CODE FOR THE LINE POOL, SEE IF STILL THERE

NEVER MIND YOU SAID YOU CAN DIAL FROM ON SITE

Yes, it's very strange. To TIE lines have to be set up as a certain line number? I guess that wouldn't matter either, because they can dial directly....hmmmm

You said something about flexar... are you in Southwestern Bell territory? Did they actually mean Plexar, which is like Centrex? Maybe the Centrex settings have fallen off the Norstar, so it doesn't know how to do the Plexar transfer anymore.

Hi Jgideon,

I'm sure the guy must've meant plexar, it is in Southwestern Bell territory...but why would normal calls go through and transferred calls not? Hmmmmmm.

If they're hitting the 'transfer' button instead of a feature button programmed as 'link', the Norstar has to know that the lines are Centrex to correctly interpret 'norstar trasfer' as 'centrex transfer' in those situations. If you can correctly 'tie transfer' by having caller on the line, then doing Feature 75 (I think..been a while for me), they should get 2nd dialtone from the Plexar, dial the 4 digit number, then release, that might be it. I've not actually set up a Norstar behind Centrex where it knew it was Centrex... all the Norstar with Centrex that I've done have only been partially trunked with Centrex, so I've never actually set one up as Centrex.
