Transfer incoming call to voice mail

If a phone rings in my pickup group and I hit *7 I can pick it up. But if I pick up someone's call and the caller wants to be transferred to voice mail, I have to hit transfer, dial the extension and then stand up and yell "nobody answer that" or risk someone else in the answer group picking it up. Isn't there an easier way to transfer an incoming call to a person's voice mailbox?

I've been here 7 1/2 years and have yet to be told yes....

Check your Feature Access codes for "Transfer to Voice Mail Access Code" Should be (while on call) Transfer, #8, Transfer. That may send it to voicemail..test it out though first...

If first criteria in coverage path for the specific extension = voicemail, you can also use the goto-cover button to get the same result.
Transfer to extension and press 'goto cover'

Try this:
Program one of your keys with the following:

for example: Button 5... abrv-dial 3 98

This works if you are supporting another phone for someone.

Answer the call and press the button that has been assigned and they will be sent to voicemail.
