hi,
got a friend that is moving from mac to windows. please, spare me the 'this is better than that' stuff. i'm just looking for answers. how do i go about transfering all of their mac files to windows? they bought one of those mac clone machines around 1996. i suspect they were using claris works or something like that as well.

thanks,
k

what os is on the mac and pc?? is os X its easy. if os 9 then you will need software.

the pc will have windows xp pro. i believe the mac has something older like maybe os 7? if i have to buy software to do this thing can you recommend something inexpensive?

thanks,
k

ive never worked with os 7, but i think it will work the same. you need software on your pc to connect via appletalk to the mac. i have used PC Maclan, and it works fine. i have heard about many other programs like this that are supposed to be better like Dave, but PC Maclan is the only one i've used. Not sure how much it costs.

if the mac has a floppy and the data you want to move will fit on floppies, format a floppy on the PC then write to it on the mac. the PC can read PC floppies I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
