Hi,

I am in need to move a certain extension to another cubicle...Right now, Ext 2710 needs to be moved to the cube which currently houses Ext 2714. The Ext 2714 needs to be moved into the cube that houses 2710...Im sure there is a very easy way of doing this but im clueless...;)

ANy help will be appeciated.

THanks.!

Switch the cross connect of each extension in the phone room.

There is no software level way of doing this?

Not without renumbering and reprogramming each station port.
What model phone?

Not sure of the exact model...Avaya, has an LED display on top, about 21 or so programmable buttons...

IF the extensions are programmed exactly the same way:

Menu

Start
System Renumber

Enter

Extension

Enter
2710
Enter

Extension

Enter
2714
Enter

Back
->
Labeling
System
Extension
2710
Enter
Drop
Type the Name
Enter
2714
Enter
Drop
Type the Name
Enter
Exit

TTT is RIGHT ON, and YES THERE IS A SOFTWARE WAY to do this.

He just told you how!

I have attempted to program as mentioned but cant..

When i press menu, i dont get the option for SYSTEM PROGRAM..i get the option for Program. When i hit program, it says (Extension program)...i hit START, and it says select button.....i dont see System Renumber....HELP..;)

You have to be at the console to do this, typically the first operator position in your system. Or you could do it with Winspm of course.

What does that mean "First Operator Position in your System"?. I found the phone that had the option for System Program. It is a model 4424LD+ phone (Big Green looking screen). This had the ability to get into the System Program and I was successfully able to switch programs. The problem is now, i want to relocate that phone. When i plug the phone into another jack, all those options disapeear and i get the regular Program option, no more System Program is there...What needs to be done to make a different extension authoritative (i guess) for making System Programming changes....

In system programming you can designate the programming phone extention#. From the system programming extention port that currently works - Press system programming, start, system, SProg Port, (you will see the current ext# listed) - backspace that extention out, and enter the new extention number, press enter - and then exit

It's time to use the phone with the big green screen to call in a vendor to physically move the jumpers and phones for you.
