Transfer directly to Voicemail

Will you please tell me how I would transfer a call directly to Voicemail. I tried buy calling in and hit transfer button and numurous button but is unable to transfer to voicemail it went into system asking me "If you no your party ext. dial it now."
I want to by pass that...Thanks

Once you get to the VM you can try dialing the extension + 2. Not much of a VM person but I believe on most AV VM systems this will take you straight to the mailbox rather than transferring to the station. Do you know what type of VM system is connected to the 2400?
