I need to be able to transfer directly to VM using the User name not the extension.

If I create a shortcode of:
#xxx
Voicemail Collect
#N

It works fine to transfer directly to VM using ext # but need to be able to transfer directly to VM using User Name
Thanks in advance

I have seen some systems programmed like:

#5400
voicemailcollect
"#username"

The thing is you have to create a shortcode for each user.

you can also use *gasp* ...the Wizard

this is one of the very few things i use the Wizard for especially if i have a ton of users. When selecting users to have voicemail when using the wizard, it will create the direct transfer shortcodes as show above by kurthansen

I like to use thisbecause its faster for the user:

#,"VMT",voicemailcollect,0

IN VM pro create a module VMT

start point connected to menu that has DTMF ??? for 3 digit exts connected to a leave mail for $KEY

This way eliminates the rings until you get to the personal greeting. This, like the other ways, can also be used to leave a message. Don't use this if you require the rings before the greeting.

Forgot to mention in 4.0.7 and in 3.2 you can use this by pressing 3 + a DSS key.

I know this doesn't answer the username thing but I thought somone might find it useful. Why do you need to transfer via user name?

Also in 4 you can use the visual voice key to transfer directly to vm.

Here is something that I have working in various locations across different software load.

Assume that your dial plan is 5000 and 5100

Shrt Code: *50N;
Telephone Number: #50N
Feature: Voicemail Collect

Shrt Code: *51N;
Telephone Number: #51N
Feature: Voicemail Collect

Also

instead of *50N;
or *51N;

Getting rid of the ; may reduce the amount of time for the xfer to happen. Instead you can also try

Shrt Code: *50XX
Telephone Number: *50N
Feature: Voicemail Collect
