We recently swopped out the CPU for one of our customer's going from rls 20.19 to 22.46 to give them ACD capability. Since then they have a problem with transferring calls.
When a call is transferred to another extn, if the call is not answered it calls back to the originating phone as it should. However, when they try to release the first extn to try another they are unable to do so.
this appears to be a system wide problem. as they use on featurephones i can't say if the problem also exists on analogue but it does happen on the console.
i have checked through the CDB and can't find anything that appears relevant
anyone got any ideas?

prt rdr in ld 21 and change it in ld 15..

as far as i can see there is nothing in rdr that will make any difference to the problem. as i said in my first posting, i have checked through the cdb. i did this by comparing what was set in the rlse 20.19 with what i now have in the 22.46 and can see nothing that would make a difference to the present problem. i also reviewed the whole cdb to check for any prompts that might be relevant to the problem but could not see anything.
i did think that it could be a missing patch but unfortunately, patches on rls 22 are not named so unless you know what each of them do it is impossible to know what should be added. i should say that i have checked the in service patches on the system and most of them appear to be there.

do you have a fcwd timer in your rdr? that redirects calls to the att after a time limit, mine is set to zero so i don't get 1000's of calls back to the att. i remember this problem back in the rls 22 days, but i want to say it was a patch. to many switches since rls 22

Thanks for your further help. I don't have fcwd in rdr. Is it package dependant?
I'm not sure what you were saying about patches?

i remember a recall to att needing a patch back then.. that prompt may be issue rather then package issue... i seem to remember finding the cure in the cdb, but your about 5 years back in the hist folder...

It isn't actually recall to attendant that is the problem, it is recall to the phone that put the call through unless you are saying that that equates to att recall?
I've managed to get hold of the original CPU and have set it up as it was set up at on site. Having tried to reproduce the fault i am not too sure that i am not being led up the garden path by the customer!!
I will speak to them tomorrow to clarify the issue.

Some of us have seen nearly every possible cause for a peoblem, and we don't think twice "if the problem is as embarassing as I am going to propose"

Is it always digital sets and do those sets have CLS ARHA? If you made an announcement that the system was going to be upgraded, lots of users get dumb all over again. They get a call, the caller asks for Mr. Smith, they Press Conference, dial Mr, Smith, then press release. Shortly after the phone rinhs with a "Automatic reminder of Held Call" and the user blames the system for not pressing AO6 before rleasing the parties

Sorry for posting this :)
