Transfer delay using Conversant/Definity

We are using Conversant VRU behind a Definity switch. The blind tranafer call from VRU is taking 7-8 sec approx.

Per our switch guys, we need to dial a 4-digit code before the outbound VDN.
example:
To trasfer to 12345, VRU needs to dial xxxx12345.
VRU needs to dial this code only if the switch passes ANI/DNIS to VRU thru T1 line ( switch guys use converse-on command to pass DNIS/ANI).

If the switch is not passing ANI/DNIS to the VRU, then the transfer doesn't require 4-digit code before outbound VDN. This transfer is fast.

Can anyone help me how VRU can avoid dialing this 4-digit code and still receive DNIS/ANI without converse-on command.

Thanks in advance,

It could be that the switch is waiting for more digits from the Conversant, the condition you are describing sounds like the delay when your waiting for a digit collection step. (i.e. "enter your 4 digit number followed by the pound sign) The pound in the vector proceesing tell the switch not to wait for any more digits and go ahead to the next step. as i recall from my limited conversant training it seemed like the conversant scrip did the same thing. Try having the conversant send a # back with the digits to see if that speeds thing up a bit. Or look to see if its expecting more than 7 digits.

RTMCKEE, thanks for the response.

Actual transfer time is 3-4 sec (not 7 secs). The extra delay was due the sleep put in the switch. Actually, the IVR took 3-4 sec to finish the transfer.

How must time normally will IVR take to transfer a call ?

Thanks,
