Hello: I have lost the MB on a laptop (Compaq Presario), but I am intrested in keeping the data from the HD. I have pulled the HD from the laptop, and thought that the simplest way to access the old data was via an hard disc enclosure and USB access. Well, I have access to the HD,but only the SYSTEM_SAV(G:) drive partition. Would appreciate it if someone could tell me how to access the C: drive...

Thanks

Sounds like there was some kind of drive overlay in use in the laptop....which model is it? Maybe someone has come across this before?

Andy.

Have you tried a 44 pin adapter and connect as a normal slave drive in your desktop computer?

The Model is a Compaq presario 1800. I will try the 44 pin connector next, and see how that works-Thanks!

if the pc has a lan card then network it to another pc if you can

you will need a router/hub to achieve this but this is the method i use and you dont have to worry about technical stuff getting in youre way like hd incompatibilities
