I have a password protected on my site from which authorised users can download software updates etc. I would now like to track what each user downloads - e.g. when "user 1" downloads "file a", then this is written to a CSV file.

How can I do this each time a user clicks on the file to download? Is there some kind of "onClick" event in PHP that is similar to the "onClick" event in JavaScript?

TIA,

Kevin

Hi,

There is no "OnClick" function in PHP, but i would propose you to choose the simple solution consisting in making a small redirection script that would track the users before redirecting them to the file with the header function (acording to the file-type you offer to download).
