I have been told you can see what digits are going in or out a tie line... I thinking I am sending certain digits to the voicemail system but I am not getting the desired response.

Someone told me I need to use LD80...

How can I track what digits that the voicemail is getting (it is an internal card in the meridan)?

Does it use a lot of resources?

thanks

LD 80 provides a valuable trace facility which gives a snapshot of call activity on the system. The following commands can be used to monitor and trace calls:

LD 80

. trac 0 xxxx (where xxxx is a DN) this will give information on any call present on the DN or indicate idle, it is possible to enter the ACOD of a route as a DN and this will result in an indication of the condition either idle or busy of every trunk member of the route.

. trad l ch (where l is the loop and ch is the channel of a particular digital trunk member) this is useful when after tracing an ACOD of a digital route, ISDN, DPNSS or similar, you may then trace any of the channels marked busy to check their call status.

. trak x x (where x x is a TN on an Option 11 Meridian) this will give details of any calls on the TN and if it is a digital set the status of every key.

. trac xx x xx xx (where xx x xx xx is a TN on a Meridian 21 and above) this gives the same information as the command above.

. trat 0 x (where x is the attendant number of a switchboard on the Meridian, if only one switchboard is on site then this will be 1) this will show the status of all loops on the switchboard and details of any calls present on them

Thanks very much for the info. Right on as usual with this forum!!!

you can also use enhanced trace in LD 80 i.e.

entc c u xxxx

where c u is the TN (on an option 11) and xxxx is the time you want the trace command to run.

after that you must start the trace by entering the command

gotr

This is a good alternative to trac and trak when you need a realtime view of what is going on. the trace updates you whenever there is a change in status of the TN for as long as you have specified with the time parameter xxxx.

Can you post exactly how you typed in the time parameter. It seems like anything I try gives me a TRA306 or TRA101 error.

Thanks,
Jesse

The command shoud be entered as --

ENTC L S C U ( or C U for an 11 ) HHMM. HH can be any value between 0 and 23. MM can be any value between 0 and 59.

Remeber that if you exit LD 80 the switch will stop the trac regardless of the timed value.

I have tried this entc command in 80 on several different switches and I get the same message in all of them. I get a TRA305 saying that you need to have multiuser turned on in LD 17. What in the world is it talking about. I have no clue 1) what multiuser has to do with anything, and 2) where in LD 17 it is talking about.

Thanks

I keep getting those erros also, TRA101. PhoneJack, can you run through the steps:

Under gateopener OVLY
Prompt Multi_User
Enter ON

Thanks,

Olympus

What Rls. of software and which type of switch?

Post teh exact entry and the error and we can go from there.

I do a trace on 28-0-0-0, and get error TRA101:

.trac 28 0 0 0

TRA101

I also try doing a trace on 28-10-0-0, and get error TRA101:
.trac 28 10 0 0

I have tried doing a trace on 11 0 0 9 which an ext is assigned to and I still get the TRA101 error:

.trac 11 0 0 9

TRA101

A couple of things:

You have an option 11. Instead of using L S C U (i.e. 11 0 0 9) use C U which would be 11 9.

Also, I believe "trac" is used for DN and "trak" and "trad" are used for trunk TNs. (trak for EXUT trad for digital trunks)

so try the following in LD 80:

.trak 28 0
.trad 0 xxxx (0 is customer number, xxxx is the extension of the phone)
