Hi,
I have a customer with a BCM400 that we put in about 2 years ago. He is asking about a feature he saw at another company, and whether we could configure his system to act like it.

He describes the feature this way:
"If someone dials my extension, is there a way for the caller to be prompted if he wants the system to "track me down" by trying some more programable numbers until it reaches me? If unsuccessful it would go to voicemail?"

So I think he is asking the system to hold the call while it consecutively dials more than one external number and if it reaches him, then transfers the call to him.....

Anybody know how to simulate this on the BCM??

Thanks

The only option I know of is outbound transfer via the users mailbox. Caller reaches the users mailbox and can press a number that will say dial the users cell phone.

There is no "Track Me Down" feature in the BCM

However...

You can give the caller several options in his voicemail, you can have him park and paged, (it says his company directory name then has a call on 101" or give the caller a option to be forwarded either externally or internally, or go to his mailbox. After that thoug your option can be a bit limited.
