Hey all!
I'm a long time silent reader here and have gotten most of my knowledge of the Option 11 from these forums. So with that said, I'm an IT veteran but a newcomer to the Option 11 and extremely proficient w/ Asterisk. So I'm up to speed on telephony, just not the three letter commands of the Opt 11.
So, we're in the process migrating from the Opt 11 to Asterisk and have the two tied together via an internal T1 trunk. When I "migrate" an extension to the new system, I change the DN on the TN (so I don't out anything), and then I create a DSC using a RLI that we have that sends the original extension prefixed with a 1 (ext=xxx; RLI ext=1xxx) over the internal T1 trunk.
Everything works fine for common extensions. The one that got me yesterday is a fax extension we have. It's set up as a common analog extension in the Opt 11. Its using an IDC to get to the extension. So I changed the DN on the TN for that extension and it appeared to work. So now the CO sends the 3 digits in, the IDC maps them to the DSC, and then over the RLI it goes. What's interesting is that for some callers, it sends it over the RLI to the new fax extension, and for other callers it sends it to the receptionist. (Just an FYI... we have 3 PRIs... 1 local and 2 long/toll-free).
We thought it was just long distance numbers that were going to the receptionist but that was proved to not always be the case.
So... that brings me to my question... I'd like to do a trace on inbound calls on the T1 cards (or PRIs) to see if maybe the CO is sending different digits and its using a different IDC or if they are sending the right digits and something else is happening to IDC.
I've read up on LD80 and TRAK, TRAC, and TRAD and I think TRAD is my ticket but the docs mention a loop and channel. Well, T1's have 23 channels so is there a way to watch all calls on a loop or do they mean DCH?
If I'm not mistaken, it wasn't until we changed the DN and created a DSC that this started happening.
Thanks in advance all!
