Is there any way to trace the IPaddress of the machine from where the mail is sent through Outlook in Exchange 2007 Environment. Please let me know is there any possibility to trace the machine name/IP address for internal mails from Outlook /OWA. Thanks in advance for your comments

I don't believe this is an option. Looking at the Message Options to see the message header you will see that only server to server handoffs are recorded.

I hope you find this post helpful.

The RFC requires that SMTP hosts stamp their IP to the headers. Outlook isn't an SMTP host. So the answer is 'no' as far as headers are concerned.

There might be a way to trace OWA through the IIS logging but I'm not sure how.
Outlook should be trackable throught Eventlog -
for example Set-EventLogLevel -Identity MSExchangeTransport\SmtpReceive -Level expert

hope this helps,
Mark
