I'm doing an animation in 2D, that requires me to trace bitmap and vectorize every frame, since I hand drew and scanned each drawing in. Is there a simpler, much faster way to do this? There isn't even a shortcut key.

Traditional frame animations is the worst and very time consuming.

Have you tried to draw directly in flash? That would save alot of time. The only real trick i know is Onion Skinning for frame by frame animation which I bet you already know.

So I guess there's no way to do it? Onion skinning doesn't really serve my purpose for this issue. I'm trying to trace bitmap so I can clear out the background of my drawings and make it transparent. That and color it.

The best way to do this type of animation (and it's to late for you) is to hand draw the character (1 frame), scan it, and use that as a "guide" to redraw the character in Flash. You then complete the animation in Flash (rather than on paper) Here is a great example of the process.

Hope it helps.

Wow JT that almost looked like you knew what you were doing!

I wish there was a scrub bar on that video. I didn't have time to see it all, but it was quite interesting the way he goes through the process. It's crunch time for project, so I guess I'll manually "trace bitmap" every frame. I'll post it up here once I'm done.
