Hi,

My AV keeps popping up with this virus as I'm working (Antivirus PE V. 7). It usually coes up with an executable file, and when I click to delete or deny access it then comes up with a tmp file.

Needless to say, even when I have told it to delete it still recreates itself. I think my AV is stopping it from doing any harm, but I would prefer to get rid of it altogether.

I have searched the net but can only find a couple of refences to it on French language sites (and although I live in France my French isn't that good).

Hope someone can shed some light on it.

Thanks,

Richard

hi, welcome to TSG.

Download hijack this from the link below. Please do this. Click here:

to download HijackThis. Click scan and save a logfile, then post it here so
we can take a look at it for you. Don't click fix on anything in hijack this
as most of the files are legitimate.

what is the name of the file and where is it being found?

Hi,

The files are:

srvnie[1].exe which is in my temporary internet files/content.IE5/S1YV0127 folder (the file name changes though), also I use firefox not IE so I suppose it must be something to do with explorer

win914.tmp which is in the WINDOWS/TEMP folder (again it changes filename).

I have Antivir PE version7, zonealarm (I'm also behind a router), Ewido latest version and microsoft defender all running.

The hijack log gives me this:

Code:

Right, now I'm starting to get a dialer trying to connect; because I go through a router it can't. The executable seems to be called winA08.tmp and has another exe called iddA09.exe with it in task manager. The program is all in Italian with teh message "Connessione impossibile! Il programma sara' terminato". Easy to work out what that is saying (and I lived in Italy for 5 yrs too).

Can anyone shed light on this it's tarting to worry me now.

Thanks,

Richard

Download the pocket killbox

Click Start > Run > and type in:

services.msc

Click OK.

In the services window find ewido
Right click and choose "Properties". On the "General" tab under "Service
Status" click the "Stop" button to stop the service. Beside "Startup Type"
in the dropdown menu select "Disabled". Click Apply then OK. Exit the
Services utility.

Note: You may get an error here when trying to access the properties of the
service. If you do get an error, just select the service and look there in
the top left of the main service window and click "Stop" to stop the service. If that gives an error or it is already stopped, just skip this step and proceed with the rest.

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. Now put a tick by Standard File Kill.
In the Full Path of File to Delete box, copy and paste each of the following
lines one at a time then click on the button that has the red circle with the
X in the middle after you enter each file. It will ask for confirmation to
delete the file. Click Yes. Continue with that same procedure until you have
copied and pasted all of these in the Paste Full Path of File to Delete box.

Note: It is possible that Killbox will tell you that one or more files do not

Run Ewido!

# IMPORTANT: Do not open any other windows or programs while Ewido is scanning as it may interfere with the scanning process:
# Launch Ewido Anti-spyware by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
# Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab then click on "Complete System Scan".
# Ewido will now begin the scanning process. Be patient this may take a little time.
Once the scan is complete do the following:
# If you have any infections you will prompted, then select "Apply all actions"
# Next select the "Reports" icon at the top.
# Select the "Save report as" button in the lower left hand of the screen and save it to a text file on your system (make sure to remember where you saved that file, this is important).
# Close Ewido and reboot your system back into Normal Mode.

reboot to normal mode and run a few online scans!

Make sure your ActiveX controls are set as follows:

Go to Internet Options - Security - Internet, press 'default level', then OK.
Now press "Custom Level."

In the ActiveX section, set the first two options (Download signed and
unsigned ActiveX controls) to 'prompt', and 'Initialize and Script ActiveX
controls not marked as safe" to 'disable'.

Active X settings

Run ActiveScan online virus scan here

When the scan is finished, anything that it cannot clean have it delete it.
Make a note of the file location of anything that cannot be deleted so you
can delete it yourself.
- Save the results from the scan!

your log is clean now.

we can run a few more scans for general clean up, use these tools regilalrly to ifght spyware/adware!

You don't have to have adobe and roboform loading on startup as they will slow dow your computer!

go to this site and download these tools and once you get both
adaware Se 1.6 and spybot, update both of them.

Set adaware to do a full system scan and deselect, "search for neglible risk
entries". Click next to start the scan. Delete everything adaware finds.

reboot and now run spybot

Spybot: Search and destroy.

Delete what spybot finds marked in red. After updating spybot hit the
immunize button.

Download Superantispyware.

Once downloaded and installed update the defintions
and then run a full system scan quarantine what it finds!

All tools can be downloaded at the link below and found on that page!

. SUPERAntiSpyware
. SpyBot search and destroy
. AdAware SE personal

Hi There,

I am haveing a very similar problem, where the virus keeps "Kloning" it's self.

I have run all the scans and some more, although i think i have got most of them there is still one i can't seem to find.

When i ran in safe mode all i got was a black screen with safe mode in all the corners.

I hope i have done the right thing adding to this post.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Dean
