I hope someone can help with a problem I have with a site in Madrid.
They have a CS1000S running release 5, One sig server etc.... There's a PRI connection (QSIG) to an E1 connection on a Cisco router which provides on-net VoIP to the rest of our company globally. The voice works fine but when users on-site try to dial up a conference bridge hosted on a different site they are unable in input their 4 digit passcodes (not accepted).
This sounds like the conf bridge is not recognising the buttons pressed, which makes me think the keypad tones are not working across that link. If the users dial the full DDI number of the conf bridge, routing across the public network then it works.
It appears that the fault only occurs on the OSIG route. The local vendor have washed their hands of the problem, stating it must be a config issue on teh Cisco router but we have other sites using the same router config without a problem???

Here are copies of the routes, route 1 is the good one.

couple of questions.
1. Is the model of router the same at other sites
2. Is the IOS the same as on working sites
3. PRT the config of the QSIG link (router side)
4. Did you build your Trk members in reverse on the CS1k side as Cisco recomended this?

As i have found with most Nortel to Cisco problems Cisco are normally to blame as they always try to put thier own version out of an industry standard which means it doesnt quite work 100% :)

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder

Hi,

Thanks for responding.
The router models and IOS are the same as our site in Portugal which works, however the difference is that theis is the only site with a CS1000S running release 5.

Our vendor built the system so I can't be 100% sure they configured the members in reverse.

Here's the relevant parts of the router config:

Is EES turned on in the CDB? if not when the trunk timer ends so does EES unless you using a 500 type set. try it it with a 500 set to see if it works and if it does than it's your CDB setting.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Hi,

I've got EEST set to YES (and DTMF to YES as well) but EESD is set to NO.

Hi

The EES is for sure working on the QSIG. Then from the router to the IP network, the EES signaling have to be tandemed into H245 tunneling protocol.

The way to prove it's working or not is to sniff the outgoing port on the router using Ethereal or any other sniffer and search for H245 data block.

The issue is not in your CS1K

stare and compare the cdb in the working and non working nortels... your ees setting may not match,,, then wash your hands of that vendor.. a decent vendor will not leave you in that shape even if it;s your problem they should be able to tell you where it's broke...
