Hello, I've read through many of the thread's regarding the touch-up tool and am following the procedure's outlined in them. When I select the tool it won't let me select a line of text to edit. Are there any settings to tweak or reason's why it's not selecting a line. I've tested with scanned document's and even a pdf user manual. Still no joy.

Thanks.

Can you post a link to the PDF? Perhaps the "text" is actually an image. This would be true with scanned documents in particular.

This seems to be true. The user wants to edit some text on paper documents she recieves. It's just when the user uses Omnipage it distorts the company logo at the top of the page. Even if the solution doesn't involve Acrobat does anyone have any useful tips?

When the OCR software is run on the scanned text document, can't you set it to which areas you want OCR'ed and leave the logo alone?

You send the document to MS Word which means that the logo is taken across with everything else. Are there other ways of doing this?

In most scanning software, you can select the areas of the document you want to scan - usually after the preview but before the actual scan. I am not familiar with Omnipage, but I would have thought that it should be capable of doing this.

Otherwise, can't you just select the logo area that Omnipage makes a mess of and delete it? If you need to reinsert it in the edited document, scan it from the original paper docs and use Insert>Picture in Word. Do you have any image editing software (often comes with the scanner) which will allow you to save the scanned logo in a graphic format (TIF or GIF)

Cheers, I've already done it this way but the user's not quite so keen on it as she wants to keep the original shape and layout of the page identical. I'll try and see if it can select a certain area to proof read.
