have an operator phone in 0101 port

slot 01 is MLX008

0102 is available

0105 is another phone but could be reordered to 0102 to assign 0101 to 0105...

Operator phone has two adjuncts...

ports says not busy in maintenance even tried restore...

taking phone direct to 0101 port at phone system....
Nothing but speaker light will turn on...

Plug into normal phone port and phone works like a normal phone and dials other extensions..
(so phone is good?)

Have N0 Idea how to change the port assignment of stations / extensions....

can someone explain this process? Especially for the operator phone... extension 0 / 147 in my case... both ring same device / location...

Also still stuck in night ring and don't like being tied to our phone support company who comes when they wish.... not right now like I WANT!

winspm 8.0 and lengend release 6.1 is what I'm running..

phone was put into night service last night come in today and the reception phone basically off like it wasn't plugged in...

probably something simple....

If by "Operator phone" you mean an MLX-20L, then wiring is/was likely the problem. You can heat up all other MLX sets using the two inside pair, but the display for the Large console ("L" in MLX-20L stands for Large) requires additional power, which can come from a local transformer OR fed by the 008MLX board itself over the brown pair. If in doubt, just send all eight wires from the station port to the telephone itself.

To truly be an "OPERATOR" Phone, it must be connected to the 1st or 5th port of an MLX-xx8 Module.

To renumber an extension from one port to another, you have to renumber the TO Port to a Phantom number, or at least a number not in your dial plan. (You can usually use 768, but sometimes more research is required)

Then you can renumber the TO port to the FROM Extension Number.
